US, Japan launch large-scale exercises to defend remote islands

Japan’s Ground Self-Defense Force and the U.S. Marine Corps have begun large-scale “Resolute Dragon” exercises in Japan’s southernmost prefecture of Okinawa, aimed at practicing the defense of remote southwestern islands.
